Basa / Swai Fillets

Description Basa, also called Swai, and even by its scientific name Pangasius, is a farm-raised catfish species from Vietnam. In addition, this moist and flaky fish is tender and delicate. The Mekong River, where Basa fish are raised, is fed by snow from the Tibetan Himalayas. As the river flows,  it collects water from many tributaries along the way. For that reason, this environment contributes to Basa’s mild and sweet flavor. Product Preparation Basa fillets come individually frozen. Thaw in the refrigerator overnight or submerge in cold water. Its mild flavor makes it versatile for use in many dishes.              Region Asia (Vietnam)
